The government scrappage scheme is proving to be popular with motorists in the UK who benefit from the £2,000 they receive. While most drivers are happy with the scheme, a new survey published indicates that small business van drivers are not taking up the offers as many had expected.

The new research indicates that less than half of the van drivers who are eligible for the scheme are thinking about talking up the offer.

It has been speculated that the £2,000 is insufficient for small business owners who are keeping tight control over their finances during the current economic climate. While temporary van insurance will help to ease the burden of insurance costs during a transition, there are still other considerations for small business owners to consider.

The majority of drivers questioned in the survey claimed they did not believe the scheme would help to improve the holiday motor industry and might even help to improve the new appetite for people taking short breaks in england.

Moreover, the majority of those who were questioned for the research said that they do not believe the scheme will help bolster the UK’s motor industry.

Van drivers who are concerned about if they can afford to purchase a new vehicle this year might need to consider different way in which they can raise the money need to afford their new purchase. Finding the cheapest van insurance available could help lower costs for many small business owners.

Government figures published on May 29th show that of every five new cars ordered, one is a scrappage scheme order.

The scheme has been praised by business secretary Lord Mandelson, who said that it has “got off to a flying start” and “given car sales a major boost and offers consumers a great deal”.
