What better night to be postively devilish than Halloween? Halloween is a time to let go of your inhibitions, forget about the humdrum nine to 5, get a little crazy and act like someone else – just for a night. If you are planning a dress up party this Halloween, collect fantastic halloween party ideas, drinks, food and friends together for a spooktacular night with a creepy theme like a Seven Deadly Sins Celebration! Pride, lust, greed, envy, sloth, wrath and gluttony will all play a part in making your party a wicked winner. Make “sin stations” for your friends and have an awards ceremony at the conclusion.

Halloween Party Ideas

To be consistent with the black and orange motif of Halloween, serve cocktails on Halloween that utilize these colors. Mix a punch mixture with orange soda or orange juice to give it that extra Halloween radiance. For an additional touch, buy ice cube trays in the shape of Halloween ghosts to place in the punch at your celebration. You can’t celebrate Halloween without candy! Lay out bowls of orange and black jellybeans, M&Ms, candy corn, candy pumpkins, and other fun candy to get your guests in the Halloween spirit!

You can never go wrong with the classic pumpkin-carving contest. Get guests excited for the contest by supplying a prize for the winning carver. Go to the pumpin farm and purchase a lot of huge pumpkins that are perfect for carving. Give friends paints, carving tools, markers, felt and other decorative crafting items from your local craft store to make their pumpkin. Then select three friends to judge the winning pumpkin. Give the winner a prize, and display the winning pumpkin as your centerpiece at your fete.

Halloween isn’t merely for children. A holiday overflowing with fun, costumes and treats belongs to everyone, and we’re sharing our top indulgences for adults this time of the year. From ultimate halloween party food to spoil yourself with, to delicacies perfect for divvying up at the office, to gifts for the Halloween party hostess, our top options are guaranteed to put a gluttonous grin on everyone’s face!

Halloween Party Food

The hostess planned, decorated and prepared until she could do no more so that all her friends and family would have a Halloween party they’d never forget. Give a little thanks to your Halloween party hostess! Prepare something delicious, or cook up something spicy like a tapenade or a salsa to gift to your hostess for throwing such a ghoulish party. If your hostess has a sweet tooth, add recipe ingredients for a delightful biscuit recipe, or smores sweet and add a DIY label for a sweet treat to give thanks your host.

As a marvelous conclusion to your Halloween celebration, try an “eyeball cake”. To make your own edition of this Halloween cake, sculpt a round eyeball shape out of stacked layer cakes or use a 3-D ball-shaped pan to make the cake. Dye icing to your preferred eyeball colors and create the same eyeball design. To give your cake blood shot eyes, create red lines, you can use gel decorator icing found in the grocery store baking aisle.

I’ve found a new pet peeve when it comes to playing in home games that I don’t have when I play poker online: infinite blind raises, those house poker games where the blinds keep raising exponentially to the point where strategy goes right out the window.

I was at a home game a few weeks ago, and I was doing pretty darn well. I was hanging at the top two or three chip positions for the majority of the night, and I had just made my way to the top of the chip stack food chain, when the proprietor of the game decided to double the blinds. Again. We’d been playing for a good four hours, and the blinds had been doubling every half hour. This last raise had pushed things into the ridiculous-each time the big blind went around, I was going in for almost a quarter of my stack, and remember, I was the big blind.

Essentially, every hand turned into an all in moment, because if you were the big blind, you were pot-commited. Strategy was gone, the game was all about who had the best cards. It took one round for me to lose the chip lead, and before I knew it, I was out of the money and the chips were getting shuffled around the table with every hand.

If you’re hosting a home game, cap the blinds at some point. Otherwise, the whole night’s work can be for nothing when blinds turn the whole night into a game of chance. Either that or just practice somewhere else like Everest Poker.

A special dinner party does not have to be seasonal. There are a lot of dinner party ideas for an open-air celebration or something to welcome the cooler weather in the fall. Just because the air starts to get cool doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy your outdoor area a little longer. Ask over the girls for one final dinner party in your backyard. Give a wine tasting in the late afternoon followed by dinner at dusk. After, move the party over to an outdoor fire where you can roast marshmallows and recount the great memories you have of summertime.

The key component to a dinner party is the food. When company is arriving at the last minute, it helps to have staples already accessible. You may not have time to make a foodie menu, but with basic food items, you can easily create a few no-fuss, yummy recipes. Things like pasta, rice, beans, flour, sugar, olive oil and chicken stock are pantry staples to keep on hand. In addition, it’s always good to have additional items like yogurt, cheese, lemons, ground beef and chicken breast in the refrigerator or freezer.

Craft a mix by changing up the style every few songs. Begin with a mood/lounge mix, go to pop music and rock-and-roll, and end the night on a high note with high-energy music people can dance to. It doesn’t have to be a dance party – it’s the energy of the music you’re going for, not the intent to get guests swaying their hips! If you appear uneasy or are concerned things won’t go well, your friends will pick up on it as soon as they walk in the room. If you are easy going and have a good time, everyone else will follow too.

We all know where to find the best beers on the earth. We know how to choose the greatest beers at the local . But have you ever thought about a visit to your city, independent brewery? Learn the pleasure up for grabs and exactly what to anticipate if you decide to do so! Keen on your beer and local cultures? Ever been to a brewery? Well it could turn out to be a decent day out! There’s the 300 year-old brewery in Faversham, Kent in Southeast England. Shepard Neame has a guided tour that goes on about 80 minutes. They will demonstrate how they apply the old fashioned brewing techniques yet put together with the newest technology and produce a delicious assortment of of ‘Kentish Ales and speciality Lagers’. You will observe the traditional mash tuns, you’ll have a taste of the natural mineral water they use right from the Brewery’s well and also stepping into a re-created coopers workshop. Probably the very best portion of the tour is that all audience member participation is invited! You will taste the hops and some other ingredients that go into generating the best of the best local beers. The total visit here calls for about 2 hours, this includes the tasting and the Brewery Store visit where you can get mementos and of course take home some tasty beer! An additional place to go to for a tour of a very fine brewery is The Hogs Back Brewery, which is positioned in the village of Tongham, Surrey, between Farnham and Guildford just off the A31 ?Hogs Back? road. It is meshed within 16th century farm buildings in this quaint small village. You may expect a large amount of sampling of the award winning beers, and ales they create. ‘Our flagship real ale, ?TEA? (Traditional English Ale), has proved to be a favourite of cask conditioned ale drinkers throughout the UK and is the proud winner of many awards’. Viewing local independent breweries is like a walk in the park with exclusive little pleasures, taste-testing a lot of distinct flavors of beers and ales. The majority of of the breweries have quaint little bistros where you can sit and eat a magnificent meal after all of the walking . You may even come to feel a little drunk subsequent to all the sampling! In 1970 there became a new improvement and craze in microbreweries. Small enterprise owners turned a small business with substantial profit to manufacturing good quality brews that sell in the UK and overseas. These microbreweries also offer tours as well. Find out more information about local Breweries to visit

One of these things is the idea that poker online chips actually represent real money. We all know that on a conceptual level the chips represent the hours that we toil away at our nine to five jobs doing what we need to do to fund our game, but do you ever really stop to think about that in the heat of the moment? This would be an apt moment to bring up televised poker online shows that have gotten us to think in terms of large chip stacks, or online poker games that convert our cash to something that we never even get to hold, but it is not enough to blame others for our lack of consideration for the humble chip. Next time you play poker, whether you play a digital game or one on a classic green felt, think about the meaning of those chips before you through them into the pot. Would you be as willing to go all-in if you realized the purchasing power of those chips. The stack that you are so willing to waste on a bluff could be a fine dining experience, a trip to the movies, or that long coveted flat screen television.

Much of the literature and training materials about how to win at poker are centered around Texas Hold ‘Em, with much less available about other formats. Some poker players do get bored however playing the same game over and over. It’s natural to seek out different games, and Seven Card Stud is a good variation for those who already understand the strategic concepts of Texas Hold ‘Em. If you’re ready to explore Seven Card Stud as a newcomer to the format, then here are some quick tips for deciding which pocket cards to play and when to fold. One basic rule of thumb to follow is if the lowest card in your starting hand is higher than any of the cards showing on the table, then you’ve got a reasonable starting hand. All of your cards are higher than any showing and if you catch any cards to pair your own, you could have the best hand. Other good starting hands are three suited cards for a flush or three connected cards for a straight. Medium pocket pairs, or high pairs with one card showing and one hidden are also worth playing. When you have an Ace showing (door card), it’s best to play it only if you can raise it because you have suited cards, a straight possibility. An Ace combined with hidden pocket poker cards with no outs is actually weak, especially when another Ace is showing at the table too.

When playing poker online, people tend to be more annoying than if you were playing in a casino or card room, or in a friend;y home game. Why is that? Well, it’s the same reason why people are always more mean and annoying on the internet: because they are anonymous virtual beings on the internet. It’s a lot harder to act like an idiot in front of someone’s face.

So, most of the time when you’re playing online poker there is always one or two people that will hurl insults on the chat feature at an online table. Sometimes it is two people arguing with each other, sometimes it’s one person complaining about every bad beat, or calling everyone a “donk” or some such thing. Anyway, this can get quite annoying and distracting.

So, what to do about this? Well, I generally just turn off the player chat feature on any online poker site I happen to be playing at. Most will allow you to do this as an option, to block any player comments in the chat window.

You could come off as being rude, if someone asks you a questions or says “nice hand” or something and you don’t see it, but that is not such a big deal. We’re here to win money, not to make friends. And if you turn off the player chat option, all the annoying people who write annoying things in an attempt to get you off your game will be powerless. All you have to worry about is taking their money.

Since it’s impossible to control poker luck, the only thing one can do as short stack is go on the attack. Your goal is stay alive at the casino and to do so, you have to fight to keep your stack from falling to less than seven times the big blind. At later stages of a tournament, the average stack is most likely at least 20x the blind, so any stack shorter than 10x the blind is in peril. Once your stack diminishes to that level, you still have some effective scare power because players tend to tighten up at toward the end of tournaments, and by calling a stack that is 8x the blind, they are probably putting about half their chips at risk. By shoving your short stack in, you do gain fold equity. If your stack dwindles to 5x the blind, you are likely to get called. You must be very aware of the size of your stack and your location in relation to the button at this point. Make a point to create an image of being afraid and tight at this point so that the other players will respect an all-in shove as a sign of a strong hand. When you only have a stack that is a few times the multiple of the blinds, the best strategy is to shove it all-in before the blinds get to you rather than wait for the blinds. Players are more likely to call the forced blind bet and to fold to voluntary all-in.
